Wesley Smith - Mount Kilimanjaro
In June 2024 Wesley Smith is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for the NCBRS Worldwide Foundation. He is helping us to raise more awareness of NCBRS and vital funds so we can support our global NCBRS family. Here's what Wesley had to say as to why he wanted to support us.
"I have decided I am going to spend my 31st birthday climbing the highest free standing mountain in the world. I have decided to take on this monstrous challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro as a way of raising both funds and awareness for the NCBRS Worldwide Foundation (Nicolaides-Baraitser Syndrome). This charity holds a huge place in my heart, and is the charity that has helped support my little brother Harley and my family ever since it was founded. When my little brother was first diagnosed with NCBRS, he was one of 23 children in the whole world, which as you can imagine came as a massive surprise. My little brother is in the medical journal along with other children who were at the forefront of this syndrome's discovery. As time has moved on and the power of social media has grown, this syndrome is becoming more and more recognised. But of course, the more recognised it becomes, the more amazing families it has to support.
With my help and every single one of your's help we are hopefully going to smash my target of £10,000 and help to put smiles on the faces of all the people involved in this charity and the amazing things it does day in and day out to support the global NCBRS community.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and from all of us who have ever benefited from the amazing work the NCBRS Worldwide Foundation do to enrich the lives of those affected by Nicolaides-Baraitser Syndrome, we are eternally grateful.
